Covid-19 Information Notice – Update
21 September 2020
Dear members of the ACD community
Following the government’s statement on Friday that the Dublin area will move to level 3 of the covid-19 five-level alert system, we are required to announce that, for the next three weeks, the College will implement Scenario D of its covid plan, with remote teaching through Zoom and Moodle for all classes, except for certain designated performing arts and musical theatre classes, regarding which alternative arrangements will be advised directly to the affected students.
We regret greatly the necessity to take this course of action and we hope very much to return to a measure of physical class delivery when the current Dublin area covid-19 requirements expire on Sunday, 11 October. We will be in touch regarding these ongoing arrangements in advance of the week of 12 October; we trust that we will be in a position to confirm that we are able to begin in-person classes again, though, of course, it is possible that if the public health situation has not improved we may be compelled to announce an extension of the current measures.
Teachers will contact their students on arrangements for individual classes by Zoom and Moodle over the coming days. Unless specifically requested or arranged, students, teachers and staff should avoid coming to the College premises for the next three weeks.
We are conscious that some students may feel isolated or lonely during this period. We will be putting in place measures to stay in touch and offer virtual events and perhaps limited outdoors social activities, weather permitting and in accordance with physical distancing guidelines, such as picnics and walks. If you have any ideas for this, please contact Scotty at firstname.lastname@example.org
We thank you all for your patience and forbearance. We hope that it will not be long before we are able to begin returning to our more accustomed ways of teaching, learning and interacting with each other at American College Dublin.
